FM 310 – Modeling Pressure Relief Systems in PIPE-FLO (4 Hours)

Course Description:

 FM 310 will give students hands-on experience analyzing common relief valve applications of using PIPE-FLO in a Virtual Instructor Lead Training (VILT) environment. Students will learn the types of relief valves, the approach taken by the API 520 and ISO 4126 standards, and how the equations are implemented in the Relief Valve device in PIPE-FLO. Choked flow conditions will be discussed and adjustments to the PIPE-FLO model will be evaluated. Single and multiple relief valve configurations are analyzed to understand system impacts on the relieving capacity of the valves.
